Project & Product Description
One of the upcoming new EDM artists ,Fairy Lust, is releasing their debut studio album and is in need of branding and merchandise. This project is comprised of a mix of both print and digital elements created for the loyal fans who are generous enough to support the artist. The main target audience will be fans of Fairy Lust with a few smaller demographics. Being that the album showcases the different styles of EDM it is a perfect “starter kit” for anyone who wants to be more knowledgeable of the genre and is willing to listen.
Aesthetic
The goal of the project as a whole is to communicate the connection between music and art by accurately illustrating the different genres of EDM. Each genre has different defining characteristics and its own prideful fan-base so it will be a challenge to cater to each subgroup. Each section and genre will have its own style and branding mixed in with Fairy Lust’s unique aesthetic that could only be described as a starry cascade of color and charm inspired by Japanese anime and design.
Sketches & Workflow
The project starts from a few hand drawn sketches and develops into a few vector choices. The project went through a different color ways and art styles before the a final aesthetic was chosen. The cover of the album was digitally painted while the elements inside are vector images.
